T.I. headed back to jail earlier this week to ride out an 11-month sentence, but the embattled MC didn't leave fans without an update on his music.
The Atlanta lyricist revealed in a video message to MTV's "The Seven," which aired Wednesday (November 3), that his upcoming LP will drop next month.
"My new album, entitled No Mercy, will be released on December 7," Tip said in a message taped before he turned himself in to the Forrest City federal facility in Arkansas on Monday. The MC also expressed his gratitude to fans who continued to support him through his ongoing troubles.
"I wanna give a shout-out to my fans for standing by me all this time," he said. "Without you, I'm nothing. You all make it all possible. I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart and you'll hear more from me soon. Hold it down until I get back to you."
Tip also introduced an exclusive snippet of the visual for his redemption song with his "Takers" co-star and much-maligned singer Chris Brown, titled "Get Back Up," in which the superstar rapper reflects on his previous slip-ups.
T.I. was sentenced to nearly a year in prison a few weeks ago after getting arrested in Los Angeles with his wife, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, in September on drug possession charges. The incident was a violation of his probation stemming from a sentence for weapons charges handed down last year.
Cottle was also charged with misdemeanor drug possession in connection with the incident, and pleaded not guilty on Monday, the same day T.I. began his sentence.
